Big First Win for the Nuggs!

Kevin Durant and the Seattle Supersonics were no match for the high powered offense of the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets took over in the 4th quarter and ended up winning 120 - 103. Carmelo had a great line of 32 points(on 10 of 21 shooting) 5 assists and 5 rebounds. As good as Carmelo was, Allen Iverson was better with 25 points, 14 assists, (2 shy of his career high) and 7 steals. It was great to see Kenyon Martin back out there in a Nugget uniform, he played 18 minutes scored 7 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and blocked 3 shots. K-Mart looked nothing like a player that has had 2 microfracture surgeries on both knees. He was running the court, skying for rebounds and finishing strong around the basket. The Nuggets should continue to limit his minutes and let Kenyon round into shape to make sure he contributes all season long.

The "Open Look" club played a great game. Linas Klieza, Yakouba Diawara and Eddie Najera finished a combined 16 -27 from the field and 8 - 16 from downtown for a combined 44 points. Not to mention all the hustle plays that makes these players so valuable to the Nuggets team. We need this type of play from these roll players if we expect to go anywhere this year.

It was great to see this team out there again. I have been looking forward to starting the season on a great note. I can easily see 55 + wins for this team. Since, it is only the 1st game, I will try not to overreact too much, but we did look pretty good. What do y'all think? Check out the poll to the right and vote on how many wins the Nuggets can achieve this year.

On a completely unrelated note, I really liked the logo in the middle of the court, it was much better then the previous mid-court logo. Go Nuggets!!
