Travis Henry Sidelined Again

According to ESPN, Travis Henry will not play against the Bears this weekend. Henry was first injured in the game against the Detroit Lions. The result was a partially tore posterior cruciate ligament in his knee. "He's got the flu, he's got the knee, it's not looking good," Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said Friday after practice. "Other than that, he's doing fine." This will be his 3rd straight missed game and Selvin Young will get the start if he is healthy enough to play. Henry is still waiting on word from the NFL regarding a possible one year suspension for a violation of the substance abuse policy.

The Broncos are really banged up at the running back position after backup RB Selvin Young injured his knee last week during the Titans game. Young was limited in practice on Friday after missing practice Wednesday and Thursday. Coach Mike Shanahan said that Young will be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Bears, which means Andre Hall will start if Selvin can't go. My guess is that we will see split carries 60/40 Young with Andre coming in to give Sevlin some rest. Both are rookie running backs and need to focus on holding on to the ball. Fullback Kyle Johnson was resigned by the Broncos and we still have Mike Bell for additional running back depth. This puts more pressure on Cutler to move the offense effectively.
