Nene out 6 weeks

Nene will have another chance to gain more weight. The Denver Post is reporting that the Nuggets power forward will miss 6 weeks with a thumb injury called a Torn Ulnar collateral ligament. According to WebMD a torn ulnar collateral ligament is an injury of the soft tissue that connects the bones of your thumbs together. Nene had surgery today, and according to the report should be able to go in about 6 -8 weeks.

Carmelo Anthony told the Denver Post "His post presence, his defense, we're really going to miss him." That leaves the Nuggets with two power forward's on the roster (Kenyon Martin, and Eddie Najera). The injury bug continues to hit the Nuggets early in the season. We now have 4 players injured. It should be interesting to see what George Karl does with the rotation. I expect to see a lot of small ball in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

We need players like Steven Hunter, Bobby Jones, and Von Wafer to step up and fill the void until the Nuggets can get healthy. Tonight we play the Washington Wizards on ESPN. Hopefully, we can put that disgustingly ugly loss on Wednesday night behind us. (AP Photo/ David Zalubowski)
