Broncos releasing Simeon Rice

Simeon Rice was clearly unhappy playing with the Denver Broncos and the Broncos were unhappy with his performance and attitude this year. Rice signed a one-year $3 million contract with the Broncos after being released by the Tampa Bay at the start of the 2007 season. The 12-year veteran had a lingering shoulder injury and probably should never have been signed by the Broncos in the first place. As previously reported by DMHS, Rice had been voicing his frustration with his lack of playing time despite seriously under-performing on the field (7 total tackles, 0 sacks). He openly acknowledged regretting signing with the Broncos. According to ESPN, the Broncos are negotiating a settlement with Rice after he had requested and was granted his released.

This guy clearly has a bad attitude while with Denver and is way past his prime. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Good riddance!!! I'm sure the Broncos will come up with another "genius" personnel move to replace Rice. I hear Charles Haley, Bruce Smith, and Alfred Williams are available on the FA market and I'm sure the Broncos will give those young-bucks a tryout.

I wonder if he's complaining about lack of playing time now.
