Cutler Injury Not Serious

Finally some good news for the Broncos. According to the Denver Post MRI results did not indicate any serious damage to the lower left leg of Jay Cutler. "There's no stress fracture," Shanahan said. "He's a little sore." Obviously Cutler is the most critical component in Denver’s offense and we are all relieved to find out that his injury is only a bruised leg and not something more serious.

Shannahan declined to say whether Cutler would start this weekend against Kansas City. "We'll see how sore it is," Shanahan said. "We'll see how he feels on Wednesday." If he can not play this weekend Patrick Ramsey would get the start in his place. Typically the Broncos only suit 2 QBs on game day, but I expect Darrell Hackney to be activated from the practice squad regardless of whether Cutler plays or not.
For a moment in last weekend’s game against Detroit, Ramsey struggled to get up after taking a hit and fumbling the ball on the Broncos 1 yard line (led to a defensive TD for the Lions). The 3rd string QB was long snapper Mike Leach. Even if Mike had played it probably wouldn't have made any difference, although he might have been able to long snap his way to a Broncos victory.
