Injuries continue to descimate the Broncos

The Broncos lost two more players to injury this week, bringing the total count of injured players to seven. The injury bug has continued to descimate the Broncos roster. The impact has particularily hit the offensive and defensives line hard.

- Rod Smith has officially been ruled out for the 2007 season after spending the first half of the season on the PUP list. Smith returned to practice last week, but the hip injury sustained last year still had not improved enough for Smith to be activated to the 53-man roster. "The hip is quite sore," Shanahan said. "He won't be activated in the next two weeks, which means he won't be activated for this season. We'll take some time and see where it's at the end of the season." This might be the end of the line for Rod Smith; he has had a hall of fame career and is probably one of the best undrafted players of all time.

- Jarvis Moss will be out for the year after fracturing his right fibula during last Thursdays practice. Moss was drafted in the first round, 17th overall, to help improve the defensive line. Overall he played well this year, seeing most of his snaps in passing situations. His size and speed is a great fit for passing situations. This is a big hit to an already underperforming defensive line.

- Other players with serious injuries: Tom Nalen (torn biceps), Ben Hamilton (concussion), Steven Alexander (calf), Javon Walker (knee), and Ebenezer Ekuban (ACL).
