Lynch Cleared to Play

Finally some good news for the Denver Broncos, John Lynch has been cleared to play this weekend against the Detroit Lions. According the Denver Post, Lynch was cleared to play by the Broncos' neck specialist. Lynch left the Monday night game against Green Bay with a neck stinger while tackling Running Back Ryan Grant. He did not return to the game.

The importance of John's presence on the field can not be underestimated. His leadership and playmaking skills at the line are critical to the defense. Last week after Lynch left the game, the Broncos seemed confused on defense and had a lot of trouble with substitutions. They got caught with 10 or 12 men on the field on multiple occasions, including a critical 3rd down. The defense is simply much better with Lynch on the field despite his coverage limitations.
